I admit it, I am a huge procrastinator. Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow could be my mantra. Today I will break the mould and begin my blog. Posts on this blog will be about my photography experiences and down the track perhaps some tips and/or tutorials. My journey into photography began about five years ago when I acquired my first DSLR camera, an entry level Canon 400D with a kit lens. Several camera upgrades (I now use a Canon 5D mark iii) and a collection of good lenses later I’m still on the journey, still learning and still trying to capture that amazing hero image. I’m basically self taught, picking up tips from other photographers along the way with the bulk of my knowledge coming via google. If you have the time, patience and a decent internet connection Google can be an amazing teacher. Most of my images are taken within a 50km radius of my home. You don’t necessarily have to travel far and wide to make good images. In saying this I have to say the Gold Coast, Qld where I live is a photographer’s paradise, with beautiful locations in abundance. Yesterday I attended my photography club’s monthly outing, bird photography on the broadwater. These are a couple of my images from the shoot including the exif data and post processing. Very little post processing was needed on these shots. Please feel free to leave a comment or ask about my processing.
